MAINTAINING A COMPETITIVE EDGE
The Midland Performance Golf Academy in partnership with Solihull College is a pathway within our Level 3 Sport Diploma aimed at those with exceptional talent on the green to carve themselves a career within the professional golf circuit. Under the tutelage of experienced golf professionals, based here in Solihull, students who choose to participate will begin to sharpen their abilities and progress their talent, with long term career options open to scholarships abroad, semi-professional and professional golf tournaments and national representation. Men and ladies are encouraged to join, regardless of handicap.
APPLYING FOR A COURSE
To enrol on the MPGA, you must be studying as part of our ‘Extended Diploma in Sport and Exercise Sciences’. If you wish to participate but don’t have the necessary qualifications to do the course initially, there are a number of routes the College offers in order to build up to our Level 3 programme, allowing you to gain access academically.
Monday – All day practice at Forest of Arden Golf Course
Tuesday – Individual self learning and practice.
Wednesday – Competition day supervised by a PGA Professional.
OUR FACILITIES
Solihull College has state-of-the-art health and fitness facilities, available for use to anyone across the campus. These are designed to maintain and enhance the athleticism and fitness levels of all our prospective students, whether in the Academy, on our sports courses or just for those taking part for personal leisure.
The Blossomfield Campus sports hall has a modern, recently refurbished gym, with brand new treadmills, cross trainers, bikes, rowing machines, weights and more, so those wanting to achieve peak physical fitness can do so, on site. The Academy trains all its participants on the 3G astro-turf located next to the sports hall.
The College offers a Student Athlete Scheme in which students will be given access to free gym membership, free physio sessions, free training schemes and free college sports wear. In return for this we expect those in the scheme to attend some open days and apply themselves with role model behaviour for parents and prospective students.
